And all you need is a little creativity! Simply draw a picture of a crib or pacifier while your teammates try to guess it; whoever gets the most points wins. Game developer Patricia Swackhamer says giving birth to her idea was easy. “We were having a shower with a group of guys and all we had were old party games like taking labels off of baby food jars and tasting to guess what’s inside. They aren’t funny – or fun. So I made up cards with words on them and had people draw the word from the card,” says Swackhamer, a mother of two. “Everyone had so much fun, many suggested we actually make the game.” As luck would have it, Swackhamer discovered a game manufacturer in the San Francisco Bay Area where she resides, and they produced it in 1999. She now does a brisk online business at www.babydraw.com, in addition to selling Baby Draw through specialty shops in 14 states. So sharpen your pencils; the game sells for $11.95.
